Creative Activity for Our Youngest Visitors:
Won-der-lands
An interactive activity for preschool and primary school students with the aim of introducing them to the world of the museum and art in the form of an exciting adventure.
During the activity children learn more about the museum and discover its hidden corners, visiting the premises located underground and arriving at the repository of wonders in both literal and metaphorical sense. As they explore the depository of painting and the largest exhibition hall in the museum, participants hear about different periods, phenomena, nature and people.
The activity includes a conversation, educational information as well as creative and practical activities which assist in getting to know the works of art using different senses. Using elements of roleplay, children are invited to become the components of a painting. In the final part of the activity, based on their experiences, each participant makes their very own Won-der-lands creative work which becomes a part of a small pop-up exhibition.
The activity develops creative thinking and practice, attention to detail, fosters the experience of adventure and discovery. The subjects include the museum's work and functions, art, personality.
