The order “L'Ordine della Stella d'Italia” (Order of the Star of Italy)

During the celebration of the National Day of Italy, the head of the Art Museum RIGA BOURSE – Daiga Upeniece received the order “L’Ordine della Stella d’Italia” (Order of the Star of Italy).

It was awarded for the facilitation of friendly relations and cooperation between Italy and Latvia. The order “L’Ordine della Stella d’Italia” was formed by the law on February 13, 2011 No.13 that renewed the name, meaning, and classes of the order.

The new name of the “Order of the Star of Italy” is associated with the changes of the post-war period. It was formed in the post-war reconstruction period to honor Italians living abroad or foreigners with merit on behalf of Italy. With the changes in law, it is awarded for promoting friendly relations and co-operation between other countries and Italy, as well as for facilitating the ties with Italy.
